HOPES & EXPECTATIONS: FOR LIMA MEETING 2001 (OCT)

  1. That the Meeting planned by Codal for Lima Oct 2001 might be Interamerican before being International.

  2. That we take into consideration that there will be four languages ... French,English,Spanish,Portugese.

  3. That the meeting be participative rather than lectures..getting to know each other and being in solidarity with each other

  4. The need to listen deeply to each one's cultural context.

  5. How do we explore feminist theology together ... Latin american, Canadian, North American?

  6. What does it mean to do feminist theology?? Implications for preaching as Dominicans in our own context?

  7. What different theological methods do we all use??

  8. Share theological reflections on biblical texts and include systematic discussion·Christology,ecclesiology, anthropology etc·

    Have interest groups and "open spaces". Use of music,art,dance,song etc in the liturgies.

  9. Consider the position of Mary in the light of the new anthropology of womanhood.

  10. Biblical basis.. Dominican spirituality in praxis.

  11. How does this interact with the plans of Dominican Sisters International·??

  12. Effects of neoliberalism are different in N.America and LatinAmerica..

  13. Pairing of Latin-American women with N.American/Canadian women before the meeting.

  14. Small tables and a translator at each.

  15. Exposure of visitors to Latin American realities·.visiting ministries.

  16. Visitors bring photos of their ministries and poverty areas.Bring written materials, books,articles,donations for libraries.

  17. Financial support for the meeting from U.S.A./ Canada?

  18. U.S.A. sisters request money from their ministry funds for the meeting and projects of Codal·.in good time.

  19. Learn Spanish to be able to communicate better or English(Codal)

  20. Meet important women's groups.
