The General Chapter opened liturgically with Vespers, during which the skull of St Dominic was moved from a temporary reliquary into the newly-restored fourteenth century reliquary in which it is now to rest. Mass followed, celebrated by P. Mazzoleni, the prior of Bologne, and after Mass, the Prefect of Bologna addressed the assembled capitulars in Latin. Also present was the Prime Minister of Italy, Romano Prodi! The skull was then processed around the church, coming finally into the chapel of St Dominic. Don't forget, the images will expand if you click on them.
