13 July 1998: Mass of the Holy Spirit

Monday morning, and we begin, of course, with a Mass of the Holy Spirit, with Timothy Radcliffe OP, Master of the Order, as presider and preacher. It was spectacular, of course, and the pictures should give you some sense of it. Above is the entire congregation. Click it and see! On the very left are Miguel Peiro Alba from the Dominican Youth Movement and and Margaret Ormond OP from the Dominican Sisters International.

Mass was celebrated in the choir of the church, a large area behind the main altar and rereum. Here is the view from the organ loft above the sanctuary, through the bubble mirror.

Here is Timothy preaching, in a typical animated pose. Behind him you can see the choir stalls, but you can't quit see how beautiful they are. They are all done in intricate inlaid wood patterns by a Dominican in the 16th century. The theme was "behold your brother" and you can read it for yourself.
