16 July 1998 - A Quiet Day of Reflection
Today was
a day of prayer for the chapter. The initial reports have all been given,
reactions have been recieved from various language groups, and before the
capitulars decide how to proceed, they are taking a day to step back in
silence and prayer to reflect. Meals were in silence, few meetings were
scheduled during the day, and the liturgical prayer was expanded to assist
the work of Spirit in this. Eucharist was moved to the evening, as a close
of the day, and here two sisters reflect on the readings at mass. On the
left is Suor Ignazia, a dominican sister from Bologna who regularly prays
with the friars here. On the right is sr. Maria Laetitia Youchtchen, an
interpreter for the chapter. Their prayerful attitudes were reflected by
all of the brethren.
