REFLECTIONS ON ISAIAH 38, 1-6.21-22.7-8

Sister Margaret Ormond, OP

As I prayed this text from Isaiah, this is what I heard the Lord say to you.

I have heard your prayer yesterday and yesteryears.

I have heard your prayers of these days and all the days of your life.

I have seen your tears.

I have seen your tears here and everywhere.

I will heal you.

I will help you.

I will hold you close to my heart.

You shall go up to the Lord's temple.

You shall dwell in the Lord's temple all the days of your life.

I will add years to your life.

I will add fifteen years or more to your life and that of your province.

I will give you a future.

I will rescue you from the hands of your enemies, from the power of all those who hate you and allow you to serve the Lord without fear and to be holy and righteous all the days of your life.

I will be your shield and I will take care of you.

You are precious in my sight and I love you.

I will cause the bright dawn of salvation to rise on you and shine on all those who live in the shadow of death.

I will guide your steps along the ways of peace and mercy.

You, my sons, are a light for the Church, for all those who dwell in darkness.

And the Holy Spirit will overshadow you all the days of your life and all the days of this Chapter.

And I will do what I have promised.

As I prayed this text from Isaiah, this is what I heard the Lord say to you.
