Order of Preachers

CAPUT VI
DE REGIMINE

Prologue

1. Dominican government, communitarian and democratic, has as its final end the enhancement of the Order's mission.

The basic elements of such a government are the Word of God, common life and the tradition of the Order, attentive always to the changes and situations of the times.

Government calls and animates every brother to co-responsiblity. Such co-responsibility is shown in one's capability to listen and to serve, and also in sharing one's Dominican life with one's brothers.

Our brothers are becoming ever more conscious of the need to participate in projects of collaboration, not only at the moment of their planning, but also in their accomplishment.

Recognising these attitudes and aspirations, this Chapter desires to make some needed clarifications regarding some points so as to develop to the fullest our life and our mission.
