The
Dominican Leadership Conference members express their deepest sympathy
to the Mission San Jose Dominicans on the passing of their sister
and friend.
Renilde Cade,

1932-2008

Sister Renilde Cade, born in Myers, Montana, 1932, died at the University
of Arizona Medical Center on November 13, as a result of a serious
brain injury resulting from a fall. She became a Dominican Sister
of Mission San Jose, California in 1949.
An exceptional teacher she
ministered at the Albertinum, Ukiah, Saint Elizabeth's High School,
Oakland, CA, Marycrest High School, Portland, OR, Immaculate Conception
Academy, San Francisco, CA, Saint Michael's High School, Los Angeles,
CA, Queen of the Holy Rosary College, Mission San Jose, CA. She faithfully
served 22 years in Congregational leadership for the Dominican Sisters,
ten as Congregational Prioress. Subsequently, she ministered in the
Diocese of Orange, CA, Department of Catholic Schools.
The last five
years she served in Tucson at Pio Decimo Center and most recently
at Saint Thomas More Catholic Newman Center, University of Arizona.
She will be greatly missed by her Dominican Sisters and the many
who were touched by her loving compassion, wisdom, generous spirit
and delightful sense of humor.
She is survived by her brother,
Edmund Cade, sister Thelma Albrecht, sister-in-law Bernice Cade,
brother-in-law Corwin Albrecht, and ten nieces and nephews.
Viewing
will be held Thursday, November 20, at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse
(43326 Mission Blvd, Fremont CA) from 2:00 p.m. followed by
a Mass of the Resurrection at 5:00 p.m.. Burial will be Friday, 9
AM at the Motherhouse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made
to the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose.
