Angel of hope

“Hiko-chan, wait!” A higher-pitched voice sounded above the noisy schoolyard as Hiroko turned to glance behind her. Her hair flowed freely in the afternoon breeze, pale hands tucking strands behind her ear.

Second Awakening

A large blast rocked the Portal Corporation’s laboratory. An explosion of glass shattered across an empty floor, causing several other scientists to take shelter beneath desks. One man, however, merely shoved his glasses back onto his nose and held tight to a knob. His black hair swayed violently in the wind from the blast. His voice was calm, his eyes locked on the display.

Tenenkou

A soft voice came from Hiroko’s ear piece as she jumped from rooftop to rooftop, “Hiko-chan, can you hear me? There’s a small group of oni two streets down near the park. Most of them are human sized but there’s a larger one leading them.”

Young Hiroko

Hiroko ran down the street in a panic as she carried a black school bag in one hand and a piece of toast in the other. All that could be heard from her was a repeated, “I’m late.” She brought the toast up to her mouth and held it there as she munched and tried to tie her hair back single handed. As she came around the corner of the street and into the school yard, she was brought to a complete halt as she crashed into another body. She winced as she fell back on her rear and sat there as she pushed her glasses up her nose, “Owww…”

Sake

Kurogane stepped off the elevator and onto the floor of Pocket D. He took a seat at a table and opened up his cell phone, reviewing the message he had received from Yuri. She had asked him to meet her but didn’t give a reason. Just as he leaned back in the chair to relax, someone came up behind him and placed a large bottle of sake on the table.

Go Home Now

Shayded somehow during her midnight walk decided to take a detour into the Rikti war zone. It had been ages, it seemed, since the checked the status of the place, and it would give her a few extra minutes before going home. Purple hair shifted as her head drooped, tears still freshly falling from her eyes. Other heroes passed her, even one of her dearest friends, but when asked what was wrong, she’d simply shake her head and keep walking. It wasn’t until she became so concentrated on the ground, that she felt herself bump into something, no, someone.

Hey

Khaki-colored linens shifted, swaying in the early morning breeze as pale hands grasped the window pane. Yuri’s beautiful hazel eyes met the ocean, stretching out seemingly forever. Black strands moved with the breeze, with the salty ocean air. Her oversized blue hoodie, which was obviously Shiro’s, masked beautiful curves beneath and hung to about her mid-thigh. Black leggings accentuated the muscles of her legs.

Waiting

Evening sunlight illuminated dark purple strands of hair and a beautiful pale face as Shayded sat beneath the statue of Atlas in Atlas Park. Gray eyes moved over the platform, obviously searching for something, or someone. Though she was intent on finding someone to talk to, her gaze eventually drifted to a traditional Japanese schoolgirl uniform. This particular outfit was given to her by the tailor in Steel Canyon without reason. He said he had made it specifically for her, which would explain the black primary color and the purple secondary color, and had been waiting several weeks for her to come back to the tailor so that he could give it to her. The pleated purple skirt hung to about her mid-thigh, typical for the uniform’s summer style. She smiled softly and shifted to a more appropriate sitting position for skirts, with her legs tucked behind her. This was the second outfit the tailor had openly given her. It was something she had promised him would be a secret between the two of them.

Sunset

The streetlights lining the roadway in St. Martial flickered on one-by-one as the sun slowly set over the haze of the Golden Giza. Black strands as dark as night danced in a steady, often strong breeze. Another storm was on its way to the coast.
