Every three years members of Dominican Sisters International (Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean and North America) meet to study and review their common mission in order to strengthen apostolic collaboration among themselves and other entities of the Dominican Family.  This year, the Assembly will be held at the Salesianum in Rome where approximately 90 member Congregations, represented by their General Prioresses or delegates, will spend 6 days in prayer, reflection, celebration and discussion about the future of their common and collaborative preaching mission.

Under the theme "Perfectae Caritatis: Sent to Preach the Gospel of Mercy," the Assembly will recognize of the 800th Jubilee of the Foundation of the Dominican Order, the 50th Anniversary of the publication of the document on Consecrated Life “Pefectae Caritatis”, and the 20th year of the existence of DSI.  The main presenters at this occasion will be Sr. Barbara Reid, O.P. Vice President & Academic Dean, at Catholic Theological Union, USA, Fr. Bruno Cadoré, O.P., General Master of the Dominican Order and Prof. Dr. Myriam Wijlens, Chair of Canon Law at the University of Erfurt, Germany.

In addition to providing opportunity for networking and strengthening Dominican Family ties, DSI’s Council, headed by the International Coordinator, Sr. Marie Therese Clement, O.P., anticipates that the Assembly will develop the vision and direction of DSI for the next three years.
