Coming soon: Brother Martin de Porres: Servant Leadership in Ministry to the Sick!

Mary Elizabeth O'Brien, O.P., Lay Dominican and Professor Emeritus in the School of Nursing at the Catholic University of America, is about to release her third book with New Priory Press! Brother Ignatius Perkins, O.P., describes O'Brien's upcoming book as "seminal work on the vocation and ministry of the Dominican Brother, St. Martin de Porres, O.P., as a model of servant leadership, presents a healthcare ministry paradigm that is desperately needed to transform the societies and cultures of our world today, as it did in Lima, Peru in the seventeenth century.  Built on nine authentically Dominican servant leadership behaviors: listening, giving, ministering, assessing, advocating, discerning, intervening, being present and serving, O’Brien’s model presents a schema of attitudes and behaviors which defend and protect individual dignity and freedom, and promote human flourishing among all persons."

New Priory Press is delighted to announce that this book will be available for order by late November/early December.

Have a blessed feast of St. Martin!
