The Dominican Province of Viet Nam holds its Provincial Chapter

This Wednesday, June 3, 2015, the brothers of the Province of Viet Nam will gather for their Provincial Chapter. This will be, for several reasons, a significant event for every brother in the Province to discuss fraternal issues and above all, to pray.

First, the Chapter will be held when the Order is preparing for the celebration of 800 years of its presence and service in 2016.  The Vietnamese Province will commemorate its 50th foundation anniversary in 2017.

Second, the Order is putting into action the decisions made by the General Chapter of Trogir in 2013.  In the light of efforts to carry out “a better adaptation of some of the Order’s structures for mission”( Acts of Trogir 2013 Chapter, Letter of Promulgation), the Province, too, has to re-examine its mission in the past four years and get ready, with necessary adjustments, improvements and renewal, for the next four years of mission.

Third, the brothers do feel the need for both a clear vision and an effective leadership in order for the Province to cope with the country’s new challenges and opportunities in the wake of recent vital turning-points at national, regional and international levels.

Remember the entire province in your prayers.
