The Spirit of the Dominican Family in Zambia is catching fire with the zeal of St. Dominic! We welcomed the Contemplative Dominicans to our country and now we are blessed with a dynamic Dominican Volunteer, Christine Patella (from Ohio, USA) who will be with us for a year. in our welcome ritual she was dressed in a "Chitenge", a traditional multipurpose cloth which is at the heart of our Zambian life: a newly born is wrapped in it, it is used as a bed sheet/blanket, carrying babies on the back, used in times of celebration or mourning, used for protection from dirt, cold etc.

She was also given seeds symbolizing the gifts she has brought to share among us as well the seeds she will experience as she shares life and ministers among our people.

United with our lady we dance in the spirit of the Magnificat!!

"The Lord ''DOES'' great things for us.

WELCOME CHRISTINE! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO US AS WE ARE TO YOU!

Earlier at a missioning ceremony in the USA, Christine was sent forth by the Dominican Sisters of Peace with beautiful prayers and blessings. In this second video, Christine shares her story of the journey that brought her to decide to volunteer in Zambia for a year with the Dominican Sisters
