Dominicans in Malta Celebrate the Jubilee with an Ordination

As part of the celebration of the Jubilee of the 800th Anniversary of the Order, Bro. Aaron Zahra was ordained deacon on Saturday 7th May 2016, at St. Dominic’s Church in Rabat by Archbishop Emeritus Mons. Paul Cremona, OP. It was a joyful celebration for the friars of the Province of Malta.

Bro. Aaron began his Pre-Novitiate in the Order in October 2009 and a year after he started his Novitiate. At the end of his Novitiate year, he made his Simple Profession. In 2014 he made his Solemn Profession in his hometown parish at Marsaxlokk.

At the moment, he has completed a three years course which obtained for him a Bachelors of Art in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Malta. He is pursuing his theological studies in the Dominican Studium in Dublin.

As a deacon, Bro. Aaron is commissioned to assist the bishop or celebrant at the Eucharistic celebration and to assist the Church more intimately in manifesting the mercy of God.
