"DOMINICAN VOLUNTEERS INTERNATIONAL" (DVI) wishes to share great news for the Dominican Family.
Luke Samy (shown above in the upper middle), now Br Antoninus Maria, had been a volunteer for one year in our Dominican mission of San Lorenzo Ruiz in Dagat-Dagatan (Manila), Philippines. He entered the Order on 8 August 2012, the feast of our holy father Dominic, and was clothed as one of 13 novices in the Province of Saint Joseph, U.S.A. He is the fifth former DVI volunteer to join the Order; the other four entered the Order as sons of the Province of England. Among these, Br Nicholas Crowe made Solemn Profession on 16 September 2012, and Fr Lawrence Lew was ordained to the priesthood in September 2011; he said a Mass of Thanksgiving in Dagat-dagatan in October last year.

Congratulations also to Renessa Tang, our volunteer in Mexico, Cuernavaca who will enter the Dominican Order on 7 October, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, in the Dominican monastery of her country of Trinidad and Tobago.
We give thanks to the Lord for the gift of the Dominican vocation to these former volunteers, and we pray for the grace of perseverance for them all as they take on the joyful mission of preaching the Gospel for the salvation of souls.
