At the time when the church

Was in its darkest period in history

A man of noble ancestry

Refused all earthly riches and pleasures

And set out on a mission

That will lead a world plunged in the darkness of heresy

Back into the light of truth

His desire for the conversion of sinners

And his great zeal in preaching the good news

Prompted him to establish the Holy Order

Known as

ORDO PRAEDICATORUM

THE ORDER OF PREACHERS

It was this Holy Order

That became his perpetual legacy

Shared and lived by his heirs

Across the ages

On his death bed, he said,
