We gratefully and joyously announce that on Monday, April 3, 2018 the beautiful Church of our Lady of the Rosary, Conventual Church of the House of St. Thomas Aquinas in Loikaw, Myanmar has been consecrated by the local ordinary, Bishop Stephen Tjephe. On the same occasion, our brother Pablito Thu Reh was ordained to the Diaconate and brothers Joseph Paku and Michael Tony were ordained to the Priesthood.  The ordaining prelate, Bishop Stephen Tjephe was joined by Bishop Sotero Phamo, Bishop Peter Caku and Bishop Basilio Athai, who preached at the Eucharistic celebration. Fray Bonifacio Solis, Prior Provincial of the Holy Rosary Province, the Dominican priests in Myanmar, fr. Fr. Matthew Shing (representing the Vicariate of the Philippines), Fr. Lawrence Reh (representing the community of St. Dominic Priory in Macau where the three Brothers had completed Philosophy and Theology) and 74 diocesan and religious priests concelebrated during the momentous occasion. Many lay faithful and religious were also in attendance.

The following day, April 4, 2018, the newly ordained priests celebrated their Thanksgiving Mass where Bishop Stephen Tjephe preached. Later in the day, Fray Solis and Charles Cardinal Bo, Archbishop of Yangon, signed the Memorandum of Agreement entrusting the Parish of St. Gemma Galgani to the Dominicans for twenty (20) years.

The steady growth of the Order in Myanmar is certainly one of the great blessings we have received from our Risen Lord!
