“The Peace-building Mission of the Indian Church through Inter-religious Dialogue”

The Inter-religious Dialogue Committee of the Indian Province organized a two-day Seminar on Inter-faith Dialogue from July 9-10, 2016, for all the members of the Province. The theme of the Seminar was “Peace-building Mission of the Indian Church through Inter-religious Dialogue”.

The resource person was Swami Sacchidananda Bharati who is a Catholic lay person. He had served as a Pilot in the Indian Air Force. After miraculously surviving an air mishap together with all the passengers on board, he underwent a religious conversion and dedicated his whole life as a Disciple of Christ for Peace.

During the sessions, Swami Sacchidanada Bharati dealt with the following topics:

‘Call and Mission of the Indian Church’,
‘Spiritual regeneration of the Indian Church’,
‘Foundational Principles of Inter-religious Dialogue’,
‘Shanti Yajna Meditation for Inner Peace’,
‘Enlightened Christian Leadership’ and
‘Tyagarchana Shanti Mission - An Inter-religious Mission for a Culture of Reconciliation and Peace in India’.
 
Towards the end of the Seminar, Guru Santaji and Rev. Fr. Kurian Thomas also shared their experiences in working with religious men and women of other Religions whereby they were able to share the vision of Jesus for building peace and harmony in a pluralistic society like India. The Seminar was held in the Dominican Rosary Parish at Nagpur, Central India.
