Profession of Simple Vows in Oyigbo, Rivers State

With the joy of those who welcome new born babies into a family, the brothers of the Province of St Joseph the Worker, Nigeria and Ghana, celebrated the Profession of Simple Vows of Twelve novices, Ten from the Province and Two from the Provincial Vicariate of Equatorial Africa.

The event took place on the feast of St. Augustine, August 28, 2018. The brothers of theProvince are: Charles Obinna Albeze, Fidelis Ashibeshibe, Christopher Azubuike, Sixtus Dike, Stanley Ekwosimba, George Fordjour, Raphael Ikechukwu, Kenneth Okeme,

Reginald Okocha and Michael Owusu. The brothers from Equatorial Africa are Christian Noel Messe and Cedrick-Kevin Yangoui. They all made their Profession of Simple Vows at the completion of their novitiate. The profession was made in the hands of the Prior Provincial, Brother Richard Ogedengbe, OP.

In his homily, the Prior Provincial likened the 12 newly professed brothers to the 12 Apostles and admonished them to leave every worldly thing behind and follow Christ. He also encouraged them to never cease to call on the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for them in every situation.

The joyful occasion drew people from different walks of life.
