The 28th and the 29th of December 2915 were glorious days for the friars of the Vice Province of Pakistan. On the 28th, one of their brothers made his Solemn Profession and the next day, three of their brothers were Ordained to the Priesthood.

Solemn Profession of fr Zeeshan Francis

The Vice Provincial of Pakistan, fr Pascal Paulus presided at the liturgy. During his homily, fr Pascal encouraged the young friar to be steadfast in his vocation. He asked him to fix his eyes on the person of Jesus as his role model and guide for his future in the Dominican Order. fr Zeeshan was tagged “a Jubilee gift” to the Vice Province by the Vice Provincial. According to him, the newly solemnly professed brother is a sign of hope and a sign of a bright and prosperous future for the Order in Pakistan.

fr. Pascal appreciated the parents of fr Zeeshan for presenting their precious gift to the Church. He acknowledged that their faith formation is the foundation of his religious vocation. fr Zeeshan also expressed gratitude to his parents, teachers and all those who have been instrumental to his vocation. Dominican brothers, sisters and friends were all in attendance.

The ordination ceremony was held at the Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Multan and Bishop Benny Mario Travas (Bishop of Multan Diocese) was the ordaining prelate.

The Bishop urged the young priests to be faithful to the three offices (Priestly, Prophetic and Pastoral) of Christ to which they are to be ordained. They were also enjoined to have the Virgin Mary as their role model.

fr Pascal and a host of Dominican brothers and sisters witnessed the ordination. Relatives and friends of the ordinands were also there to share their joy.
