The novices and formators of the provinces of Ireland, Belgium, Upper Germany and Austria, Teutonia and Croatia met in Bologna from 6 to 10 June 2023.
Novices from the Provinces of Ireland, Upper Germany & Austria, Teutonia and Belgium convened at the patriarchal priory of Bologna to attend a retreat preached by brother Paul Murray. The initiative is part of the recommendations expressed in recent General Chapters to increase collaboration in formation programs. In this instance, European novices with a knowledge of English gathered for four days, enjoying the stimulating and poetic preaching of brother Paul Murray on Praying. It is also an opportunity for the novices and formators to get to know each other and hopefully will swing open doors of future new collaborations. During their stay, the novices also had the opportunity to meet the students of the Province of Saint Dominic in Italy and to pray at the tomb of our Father Saint Dominic.
In a further step towards more collaboration among novitiates, the Master of the Order is inviting novices from all European novitiates to meet in Caleruega next year for the feast of the Translation of Saint Dominic.
