Risen Christ Catholic School was established in 1993 as a result of the consolidation of the Catholic schools from Holy Rosary, St. Albert the Great, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Church of the Holy Name, and Church of the Incarnation. This consolidation created a K-8 school better equipped to serve the diverse South Minneapolis community.
Its students reflect the social and cultural diversity of the city and our South Minneapolis neighborhood. More than 78% of our students are children of color, representing the African American, Hispanic, and Hmong communities, among others. 50% are Catholic, and more than 50% receive financial assistance.
Operating on two campuses, the school can enroll up to 450 students annually, with a class size limit of 25.
