Father Jose M. Santiago became pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in January 2002. He had served as pastor at St. Dominic parish in Denver, Colorado, for seven years before coming to Minneapolis. Father has a Masters Degree in Social Work and is currently working on a Doctorate in Ministry.
Father Jose loves parish life because it gives him an opportunity to minister with and to families throughout the life cycle, from birth to death. One of his goals in parish life is to help faith communities celebrate their diversity and grow in their communication within the community, the family, as couples, and personally. Parish life when it is healthy and vibrant is an image of Jesus' principle concept of the Reign of God on Earth in process.
Sister Margaret McGuirk, OP became parish administrator at Holy Rosary February 2007. She has been a Sinsinawa Dominican for 42 years. Before coming to Holy Rosary she served as Parish Life Administrator in St Francis de Sales/St. James Church in St. Paul and Provincial Councilor for the Western Province of the Sinsinawa Dominicans.
Sister is Spanish-Speaking and has lived and worked in the Latino Community for most of her religious life. She ministered as Director of Religious Education in large urban parishes in Chicago and the Bronx. She received her Masters of Divinity from Aquinas Institute in 2000. Her interest includes spending time with friends, reading, swimming and going to the symphony.
The Parish Council has ten members. Five from the Hispanic Community and five from the American Community. They meet once a month.
