Daily
work provides a necessary balance to our life of prayer and is a service
to the community. Our work takes various forms. An effort is made to develop
each sister's talents to the benefit of the community. Our gift shop contains
many items made by the sisters, such as: jams, bread, pickles, crocheted
items, hand painted greeting cards, photography cards, needlepoint, artificial
flower arrangements, and more. We sew habits for the Dominican Friars, and
liturgical items upon request. Creative writing, music, gardening, and household
chores provide further opportunities for each sister to contribute her talents
to the community. Aware that we live in an affluent society, we have chosen
to live simply and frugally to witness to the proper place material things
have in relationship to the things of God. |
