After college and some brief work experience I could not find any real meaning in business success or pleasurable relationships. Only God seemed to answer my need for fulfillment. Contemplative life drew me. At my grandmother's funeral I spotted a memorial card from the Dominican Monastery in Elmira. That was it! I knocked at the door of this Monastery over 50 years ago and was welcomed by a loving and supportive community. I have found that lifelong commitment, with its joys and occasional difficulties, brings peace, a growing sense of wholeness, and deepening love for God and all his people, and, above all, a realization that God's love is ever faithful and unconditional.
