The "Windows to the Divine" art show, was a huge success this year. This bi-annual fundraiser for the Colorado Dominican Vocation Foundation, was held on November 6 at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA). Over 100 different artists submitted pieces of artwork to the show. Each piece of art accepted into the show was required to have a spiritual theme. Art work representing Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam were displayed and sold during the show. The evening inncluded a presentation of the "Artist of the Year" award, which was awarded to Lynn Kircher. Colorado's First Lady, the wife of Governor of Colorado, Bill Owens was honored as an honorary chair person. The evening concluded with the Dominican community chanting the Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen). It was a very successful event and a huge thank you to Shannon Robinson (the art show chairperson), her husband Mike and to all the volunteers who contributed to the success of this event.
The Brothers and Fr. Louie wrap all the art work in the Novitiate basement before bringing it to the DCPA for the show. 50 Cent and Eminem would be jealous of their (w)rapping ability.
Chef Charles McDonald, created a huge feast for the Colorado Dominican Vocation Foundation Board the night before the art show. Chef Charles and Fr. Louie are friends from back in their days in Pueblo, Colorado. The Novices practiced humility by serving the event. Oh yeah, they got to partake in the feast as well.
Volunteers and the Dominicans began setting up at 7:00 a.m. to get the show ready for the 5:30 opening later that day. Art was unwrapped, walls were put up, lights were put in place and the art work was hung in time. That is Br. Dominic, not one of the artists.

Fr. Wisdom shows us it's okay to call it quits at the end. Good Night!
