Blessed Zdislava of Moravia, Mother of a Family
She was born at Křižanov in Moravia, now in the Czech Republic, around the year 1220. United in marriage to Gallus, a nobleman of the Lemberk family, she carefully raised the four children born to them.
Having received the habit of the Order, she became a fervent disciple of St. Dominic. She promoted the spread of the Friars Preachers in Bohemia and obtained from her husband the building of two convents.
Shining with domestic virtues, she devoted herself entirely to the service of the poor, without neglecting any of her household responsibilities.
She died at Jablonné in 1252. Her cult was approved by St. Pius X on Aug. 28, 1907.
