Our
final trek was up the beautiful Langental Valley (sp?), "Vallunga"
in Italian. The valley starts just above Wolkenstein (Selva Gardena) as
a pasture with a Kute little chapel in it. 
The stream that flows through it is mostly underground
at this point, leaving a wide grassy valley with steep cliffs on either
side.
Half way up
the valley, there is someone's house, I suppose the farmer who looks after
the horses and cows in the valley. Of course I had to get a picture of the
cows (see bottom). The horses were very tame. Here Peter is petting one.
We hiked right up and out the top of the valley, and the last picture (besides the cow of course) is looking back into the valley from the top.
