A classic fall day in Ohio. We were having the perpetual
party at Grandma's house, the ruckus that happens every time I am home (since
I don't get there that much). After a while, my brother Greg and I decided
to take all the kids to Durling Park, about a block away. I grew up in this
park, had my first smoke, and battled hoards of imaginary foes. Somehow
it seems smaller now. It is a little tougher to find crawdads in the creek
now, but worth the effort as long as my sisters-in-law aren't around to
complain about the kids' muddy clothes. |

The most elegant tree in the world in any season. In Brian
and Sara's back yard. He had to plan the addition to the house so he didn't
disturb it. |

Zachary Leo and Emily Steinkerchner, Greg and Diane's two
youngest kids, at my step-brother Tim Dailey's wedding to Melenie Oliver.
I couldn't be at the wedding, I think I was in Africa. But cute as the dickens,
aren't they? |

Here is Adam Steinkerchner and his more staid sister Megan.
We have just come back from playing in Lake Erie when we weren't supposed
to be, it being a cold day. But the rocks and the waves were too much to
resist, and his uncle being a pushover let them all go in. When asked how
he liked it, he literally bounced off the walls. Aren't you glad uncles
come to visit? |

Here is a picture of Greg and Diane's family playing in the
leaves last fall. It doesn't get any netter than this! |

A typical spring sunrise out of my window in River Forest
Illinois. Not spectacular, but its quiet beauty always opens my day right. |

Here is a photo from one fourth of July at the lake (Erie).
The neighbor came over to Brian and Sara's and helped the kids to build
the caboose. They all went to Wal-Mart and bought baloons, crepe paper,
candy and everything one needs for a great parade. This is the trial run
with Jon on the wagon and his cousin Mark driving the tractor. Megan and
Adam are in the caboose, ready to wave and throw out candy. The larger image
is very large, but worth every pixel. Print it! |
