Eleventh Day
Tultenango, July 26, 2022 – Memorial of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne.
Memorial of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne. Today’s Eucharist was presided over by Friar Pius Pietrzyk, OP, of the Province of Saint Joseph, USA, and the homily was preached by Friar Gregory Pearson, OP, of the Province of England. In his homily, Friar Gregory said: “The message of salvation that God communicates to us through the Incarnation, in the ‘language’ of the history of his people, is a message for all humanity. Our task as preachers is nothing less than to communicate that saving message to the men and women of our world, and that means both knowing the ‘language’ of the Incarnation and being able to show how it speaks to all those whom Christ came to redeem.”

Tenth day
Tultenango, July 25, 2022
As we well know, Tultenango hosts the Definitory Capitulars in charge of defining the mission of the Order in the coming years. Today, especially, from lauds and the Eucharist, we prayed and congratulated the Province of Santiago de Mexico on the feast of its patron saint, Saint James the Apostle. On the occasion of this feast, Friar Luis Javier Rubio Guerrero, OP, Prior Provincial of the Province of Mexico, wrote a letter to congratulate the friars of that Province.

Solemnity of St. James the Apostle
James was called when he and his brother John were mending their fishing nets.
He left the nets and his fellow workers and decided to follow the Lord. He left one group of workers to be part of another group closer to Jesus Christ, formed by Peter, James and John. This is the group that saw Jesus transfigured before them at a particular moment; they also went to the house of Jairus and saw Jesus resurrect Jairus’ daughter. Another moment they shared was when Jesus invited them to pray near him, in Gethsemane, when he was about to give his life.

May the Lord find among us at least 10 righteous ones, otherwise we won’t make it to lunch! But who are the righteous ones who can prevent the destruction…

Let Them Grow Together until the Harvest

Let Them Grow Together until the Harvest

Tultenango, Saturday, July 23, 2022
Preaching by Br. Oscar Guayán, OP.
Brothers and sisters, in the Gospel parable that has been proclaimed, the servants are very concerned about the fate of the good seed their master has sown, if it is left to grow together with the weeds. They are concerned about the results of the harvest. However, their master stops them in their eagerness to want to pull up the weeds, he asks them to be prudent, to act cautiously, for in their eagerness they may spoil everything.

Oscar commented on the phrase of the Gospel: “Let them grow together, the wheat and the weeds, until the harvest”. He also emphasized prudence in the face of evil, which implies acting in the right way and at the right time, trusting that God is compassionate and gives us the necessary time.
