The General Promoter for the Laity Participated in the Celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of St. Albert the Great College in Malta
From May 11 to 15, 2024, fr. Cristóbal Torres Iglesias, OP, General Promoter for the Laity, participated in the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of St. Albert the Great College in Valletta, Malta.
On May 11, Fr. Cristóbal met with the Provincial Council of Lay Fraternities of the Province of Malta at the Convent of the Annunciation in the city of Vittoriosa. On May 12, he had a meeting with members of the local community, including some Dominican Laity, at the “Prince of Wales’ Own Band Club.”
The most important event was the mass on May 14 at the Church of the Annunciation, also in Vittoriosa. The celebration was attended by the President of the Republic of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono, and the mayor of Vittoriosa, John Boxall. Also present were the Dominican bishops of Malta: Mons. George Frendo, OP, Archbishop Emeritus of Tirana-Durrës; and Mons. Pawl Cremona, OP, Archbishop Emeritus of Malta.
