Events at Taizé in 2015

The monastic community of Taiz in France will celebrate a Jubilee Year in 2015 to mark the centenary of the birth of Frre Roger and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the community by him. Two events might be of special interest to younger Dominicans.
From 5 to 12 July 2015 there will be a meeting of young people living the monastic or other forms of religious life to reflect on the place of these vocations in the Church and in the world today. Young means up to 40 years of age. Major superiors of some of the main religious orders will participate, including brother Bruno Cador, the Master of the Order, who grew up not far from Taiz. There will be representatives also from Orthodox and Protestant religious communities. You can find more information about this meeting at https:–www.taize.fr-fr_article16583.html
From 30 August to 6 September 2015 there will be an international gathering of young theologians (again, up to 40 years of age) to consider the theological aspects of brother Rogers life, spirituality and teaching. Information about this gathering can be found at https:–www.taize.fr-fr_article16584.html
Many Dominican brothers and sisters have visited Taiz during the 75 years of its existence, to experience its special atmosphere of prayer. These events in 2015 invite younger Dominicans to experience what Pope Saint John XXIII described as that little springtime.
