The Master of the Order, fr Bruno Cador has appointed fr Roberto Giorgis as the Secretary General of the General Chapter of Bologna 2016. This is in accordance with LCO 414 which requires that the Master appointed a Secretary General of the Chapter who will, have charge of everything that pertains to the preparation and organization of the Chapter. Fr Roberto is of the Province of St Dominic in Italy.
He was born in 1968 in the city of Cuneo in the northern part of Italy. He made his first profession in 1990 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1996. He holds a Licentiate in Theology.
The next General Chapter will hold in Bologna in 2016. It will be a Chapter of Provincials. The Chapter is significant because it will mark the 800th Jubilee of the Order. The Province of St Dominic in Italy and the Patriarchal Convent of St Dominic in Bologna will host the Chapter under the coordination of Fr Roberto.
