According to the Statutes (2002), the ICLDF has as its mission to promote greater communication among the Lay Fraternities of St. Dominic FLSD, in order to achieve a more effective preaching of the Gospel. The FLSD are governed by the Rule and General Declarations (2019). There are currently 128,267 members organized in 2,209 fraternities in 75 countries.
Last February 27, the Master of the Order confirmed the election of Mr. Sébastien Milazzo, as Coordinator of the International Council of the Lay Fraternities of St. Dominic (ICLDF), for the period 2023-2026.
Sébastien Milazzo (1978), is a lecturer in systematic theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Strasbourg. He was born into a working-class immigrant family of an Italian father and a French mother, and from an early age he admired the tutelary figures of the Order of Preachers (Dominic, Thomas Aquinas, Albert the Great, Catherine of Siena, Master Eckhart, Pier Giorgio Frassati) to the point of becoming a Dominican layman. He is a member of the Fraternity Jean Tauler in Strasbourg.
