Brother Thomas Gabriel Brogl, OP, is the new Socius of the Master of the Order for the Provinces of Europe (II).

On September 8, 2024, the Master of the Order, Brother Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, appointed Br Thomas Gabriel Brogl, OP, son of the Province of St Albert in Germany and Austria, as Socius of the Master for the Provinces of Europe (II). 

Br Thomas together with Brother Pavel Syssoev, OP, are the new Socii of the Master for the Provinces of Europe. A special thanks to Brother Miguel Angel del Rio, OP and Brother Alain Arnould, OP, for having served most recently in these offices.

Brother Thomas Gabriel Brogl, OP, was born in Donauwörth in 1977.  He studied theology in Augsburg, Rome and Freiburg. Br Thomas joined the Dominican Order in 2002, made his novitiate (2002-2004), and then studied spiritual theology in Vienna. He was ordained deacon in 2007 and a priest in 2008.

After ordination, Br Thomas served in parish ministry at the newly founded Dominican Convent of St Martin in Freiburg(2009-12) and then as student master and procurator at the Dominican Convent of Vienna (2012-2015). 

In 2014, he became founder and manager of the Schola Cordis: School of Christian Spirituality project in Vienna. From 2015 to the present, he has been Prior Provincial of the South German-Austrian Dominican Province of St Albert. Additionally from December 2017 to August 2021 and from September 2023 to February 2024, Br Thomas led the pastoral work of St Martin in Freiburg . During the second half of 2019 he became temporary curate of the highway church Maria Schutz der Reisenden in Aretsried on the. Beginning in September 2021 until February of this year, he served as a parish priest of St Martin. 

As of September 2024, he is now assigned to Santa Sabina in Rome as Socius of the Master of the Dominican Order for Europe.
