The friars of the Vice Province of Our Queen of China, Taiwan, gathered in Chapter, have re-elected fr Angelik Kitsula, OP, as the new Vice-Provincial Prior on 31 January 2023. The Master of the Order, Bro Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP has confirmed the election; and Bro Angelik has accepted the office on 1 February 2023.
The new Superior of the Vice Province of the Queen of China in Taiwan, fr Angelik Kitsula OP was born in Turka, Ukraine, on 15 June 1972.
He graduated from high school in his hometown and later from the Pedagogical University in the field of Ukrainian language and literature.
In 1994, he joined the Order of Preachers, did his studentate with the Dominican Province of Poland. In August 1995 he took his first vows, and in April 2000 – solemn profession. He was ordained priest in June 2002.
In September 2003 he arrived in Taiwan. There, he also studied Mandarin.
From 2011, he was parish priest of St. Catherine in Kaohsiung.
In 2015, he was elected prior of St. Albert Convent in Taipei. At the same time, he was parish priest of St. Dominic’s in Taipei and director of the Evangelisation Centre.
On 30 January 2019, the Chapter of the Vice Province of the Queen of China entrusted him with the office of Vice-Provincial. He was confirmed by the Master of the Order Bro Bruno Cadoré, O.P. and also accepted by Bro Angelik.
