The second phase of #Influencersop, dedicated to St. Dominic of Caleruega, has begun

The second phase of #Influencersop

From 7 to 15 August, on the official account of Ordo_Praedicatorum on Instagram, the videos of the second phase of the digital preaching campaign #Influencersop, centred on the figure of our founder St. Dominic of Caleruega, will be published.

In this month dedicated to our Father St. Dominic, whose liturgical memorial is celebrated on 8 August, short videos will be published by influencers of the Order of Preachers (#Influencersop), who will address themes of identity related to our founder.

The digital preaching campaign #Influencersop “Voices of hope for peace” is part of the project that seeks to highlight the Dominican identity on the digital continent, with the aim of uniting us to make our voice heard to the world and, in addition, to experience the community dimension of digital preaching (cf. LCO 139) and the importance for the Dominican Family to put its competences and potentialities on the New Continent (cf. ACG Tultenango, 96,99).

The image used for this second phase of #Influencersop is by Fra Angelico (1387-1455) and in it “the Virgin and Child are surrounded by St. Dominic of Guzman (1170-1221), founder of the Dominican Order, and St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), Doctor of the Church”. In the painting, Fra Angelico communicates his faith, St. Dominic and St. Thomas balance the composition and the heavenly touch is expressed with the golden and blue tones of the Virgin and Child Jesus’ clothes. It is worth remembering that the celebrations for the Jubilee of St. Thomas Aquinas have been taking place since 28 January 2023 and will conclude on 28 January 2025.

We are also preparing for the Jubilee of Consecrated Life 2025, which has as its motto “Pilgrims of hope, on the path of peace”, because the urgency of our time is peace. The voices of hope for peace of our #Influencersop will be continued in the month of the Rosary (October). Therefore, we encourage the influencers of the Dominican Family to contact us at contact@curia.op.org

We thank the Dominican Family for following the contents of the digital channels of Ordo Praedicatorum. We congratulate and pray for the ministry of Bro Ronald Fajardo, OP, who was ordained deacon on the feast of St. Dominic; and we give special recognition to the brothers and sisters who sacrificed time out of their holidays to prepare their videos and preach. We entrust the preaching of the influencers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
