The Holy Father has just appointed the Dominican Bishop Charles Morerod of Lausanne, Geneve and Fribourg, Switzerland as a member of the Congregation for Catholic Education.
Rev. Morerod was just appointed bishop last year while he was serving as rector of the Pontifical University of St Thomas (Angelicum), Rome. He made profession in the Dominican Order in 1984 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1988. He was appointed bishop in November 2011 and the episcopal ordination took place the following month.
A professor of dogmatic theology. He was the Secretary General of the International Theological Commission and Consultant to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. He has served and continues to serve the Church in various capacities. From the Curia, we wish him all the best.
