Letter of the Master of the Order to the Dominican Family on the Jubilee Celebrations of St. Thomas Aquinas-We celebrate the 7th Centenary of the canonization of our esteemed brother St. Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church, on 18 July 2023 and his 750th death anniversary on 7 March 2024.
For many years, the people in Haiti have been subjected to violent atrocities and human rights violation, incessant killings, kidnappings, sexual assaults, human trafficking, and forced labour. These have greatly impacted members of the Dominican Family, including their ability to meet physically, while others had to leave the country for safety reasons. Details of the situation in Haiti will be provided in the coming weeks.
With gratitude to God, the Giver of all good things, the Dominican Family rejoices in receiving the Pope Francis’ announcement that our brother PIER GIORGIO FRASSATI (April 6, 1901 – July 4, 1925) will be canonized during the Jubilee of Youth, taking place from July 28 to August 3, 2025.
