New Socius for the United States and the Vicariate of Vietnam in Canada

Brother Jordan Mary Turano, OP, is the new Socius for the Provinces of the United States and the Vicariate of Vietnam in Canada.

On October 7, 2023, the Master of the Order, Brother Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, appointed Brother Jordan Turano, OP, a son of the Province of St. Joseph in the United States, as Socius for the Provinces of the United States and the Vicariate of Vietnam in Canada.  Br. Jordan succeeds Brother Christopher Eggleton, OP, of the Southern Province of St. Martin de Porres in the United States.

Br. Jordan was born in 1960 in Westerly, Rhode Island, of practicing Catholic parents. His father worked for General Dynamics and his mother managed a family-owned health food shop. Jordan studied Marine Biology and completed his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

Br. Jordan has had a variety of assignments over the years.  He has been pastor of both St. Thomas Aquinas in Zanesville, Ohio, and St. Dominic’s in Washington. He has also served as Prior of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York and St. Dominic’s in Washington as well as chaplain at Molloy College on Long Island and campus minister at Walsh University in Canton, Ohio. He served as Papal Confessor at the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome for four years. In addition, he is a stable exorcist for the Archdiocese of Washington, DC.
