Workshop for New Provincials 2023 of the Order of Preachers

The workshop for new Provincials took place at the General Curia from 8 to 15 March.

The Master of the Order, Br Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, together with the members of the Curia and twelve new provincials who have recently been elected or re-elected, gathered in Santa Sabina.

In this workshop, the provincials had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the inner workings of the Curia, and to learn about the work of the Socii and Promoters. The workshop also sought to help the provincials in their preparation for the service they offer to the confreres of their provinces or vice-provinces. For this reason, they addressed topics such as: being a provincial, leadership, fraternal life, synergy between life and mission, the spirituality of a provincial, formation, and canonical questions.

It was also a time for listening, dialogue, socializing, getting to know each other, sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to work, it was also a time to relax. We had the opportunity to visit Montecassino, Roccasecca and the abbey of Fossanova in this atmosphere of celebration of the double Jubilee of the canonisation and death of St. Thomas Aquinas (from 28 January 2023 to 28 January 2025).
