A workshop for new provincials took place 27 February to 6 March at the General Curia in Rome. Brother Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, together with the members of the Curia and eight newly elected or re-elected provincials participated in the workshop.
This workshop gave the provincials the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the inner workings of the Curia as well as with the work of the socii and promoters. Another purpose of the gathering was to help prepare the participants for the service they are called to offer to the brothers of their provinces and vice-provinces. Topics included “canonical visitations”, “conflict resolution”, “ongoing formation for the different stages of consecrated life”, “spirituality in ongoing formation”, “transitions”, “intellectual life and study at the General Chapter in Tultenango” and “canonical questions”.
The workshop was also an occasion for listening, dialogue and fraternity, allowing the participants to get to know each other, share experiences and learn from each other. It was also a time to relax. On this occasion we had the opportunity to visit the city of Orvieto.
The following friars participated in the workshop: Brother Armando Alonso Villalta Salazar, OP, of the Vice-Province S Catharinae Senensis (Ecuador); Brother Juan José Baldini, OP, of the Province S. Augustini (Argentina and Chile); Brother Louis Stephen Morrone, OP, of the Province S. Alberti Magni (Southern Province of the United States); Brother Thomas Aquinas Nguyễn Trường Tam, OP, of the Province Reginae Martyrum (Vietnam); Brother Pascal Paulus, OP, of the Vice-Province Filius Mariae (Pakistan); Bro Clement Mweni, OP, of the Vice-Province of Southern Africa; Brother Bertrand Claude Akpagbe, OP, of the Province S.
