10th General Assembly of the DSIC to meet in Rome

The 10th General Assembly of the International Confederation of Dominican Sisters (DSIC) will take place from 11 to 16 May 2025 in Rome, with the aim of reflecting, discerning and establishing strategic guidelines for the next three years. The triennial Assembly, whose theme this year is ‘Widows and midwives… when past and future meet,’ will be an opportunity to reflect on the current realities facing Dominican Sisters around the world.

In this regard, Sister Kelly Connors will explore the challenges of declining congregations, offering ideas on how communities can face these transitions with faith and resilience, and from a practical point of view. Despite the challenges, the Assembly will celebrate signs of renewal and transformation, and during it, the sisters will dialogue, listen to each other’s experiences and discern ways to sustain the Dominican charism.

The DSIC was founded in 1995 with the aim of improving communication and collaboration among Dominican Apostolic Sisters around the world. It currently includes more than 17,000 sisters representing 144 congregations in 109 countries. In February 2019, the organisation was officially recognised by the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life of the Holy See.
