After the canonical visit to the Vicariate of Angola in August, the Master of the Order, Br Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP together with the Socius for the Iberian Peninsula, Br Miguel Ángel del Río, OP made the canonical visit to the Province of Portugal from September 19 to 23 of this year where they had the opportunity to meet with the friars of the province as well as the different branches of the Dominican family there.

Friar Viliam Štefan Dóci, OP, and Riccardo Parmeggiani edited Dominic of Caleruega, a book born from the 2021 centenary conference in Bologna reflecting on St. Dominic’s legacy and the Order’s origins.
The second module of the Training School for Formators in Latin America and the Caribbean, entitled “Characteristics of Dominican Formation”, will begin in September 2025 and conclude in July 2026.

The IV International Congress on the History of the Order of Preachers in America and the I Meeting of OP Archivists in America took place in Mendoza, Argentina, from 28 to 30 May 2025. This academic event followed previous editions held in Mexico (2013), Bogotá (2016), and Providence, United States (2019). Historians and archivists of the Order participated from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the United States, Spain, and France, ensuring a rich and diversified exchange.

Coinciding with the Church’s celebration of the Jubilee for Priests, the International Assembly of the Priestly Fraternities of St. Dominic brought together thirty-eight friars and diocesan clerics from all over the world on 22-25 June 2025 at the Casa La Salle in Rome, Italy.
On Monday, June 23, 2025, Fr. Orlando Rueda Acevedo, OP, returned to the Father’s house. The Rector of the Convitto Internazionale San Tommaso d’Aquino died in Rome, and his remains will be transferred to Colombia, his home country.
