On March 17, 2015, the friars of the Regional Vicariate of the Province of Our Lady of the Rosary in Venezuela elected Fr Angel Gabriel Bermudez Villasmil as their new Regional Vicar. The election has been confirmed by Fr Javier Gonzalez Izquierdo, the Prior Provincial of the Province of Our Lady of the Rosary.
The new vicar is a native of Maracaibo-Zulia in Venezuela. He was born in 1969 and entered the Order in 1987. He made his first profession in 1989 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1996. At the time of his election, he was the superior of the House and Shrine of St Martin de Porres in Maracaibo.
