On 27 January 2024, in the church of Sankt Andreas in Cologne, the Master of the Order, fr Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, proclaimed the erection of the new province of Saint Albert the Great in Germany and Austria. The proclamation took place in the presence of numerous German, Austrian, and Hungarian Dominican brothers, sisters, and lay Dominicans, along with representatives from the neighboring provinces of Belgium, France, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

On 21 November, 2023, the Master of the Order, Brother Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, appointed Brother Roger Gaise, OP, a son of the Vice Province of St. Pius V, Democratic Republic of Congo, (DRC), as the Socius for Africa. Brother Roger succeeds Brother Charles Ukwe, OP, of the Province of St. Joseph the Worker, Nigeria and Ghana.
