The Master of the Order, fr Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, together with the Socius for Asia Pacific, fr Jamshed Albert Gill, OP, conducted canonical visitation of the Vice-Province, Reginae Sinae-Taiwan, from 13-21 January 2024.
The friars were visited at the house of formation, Saint Albert the Great Convent-Taipei, Saint Dominic Convent -Kaohsiung and the friars serving in Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Wanchin. The visitors also met the Contemplative Nuns in Wanchin, apostolic sisters working in Taiwan and representatives of 28 Dominican laity groups in Taiwan. Brothers preaching in the Mainland China had also meeting through zoom.
Within these days, the visitors also witnessed important moments of the life of the vice province – the solemn funeral of fr John Chen, OP, in Wanchin, and the grace-filled and joyful ordination to the priesthood of fr Masatomo Yamaguchi, OP, and fr Kimat Nangavulan, OP, in Kaohsiung. Congratulations to all the friars, for their zeal and dedication in preaching the Gospel.
We pray that the presence and preaching of Order continue to grow and flourish in the Vice Province, Queen of China, Taiwan. May the Blessed Mother Mary, Queen of China, intercede for all the friars working in Taiwan and Mainland China. May they always feel the maternal protection of Mary our Mother, as they preach her Son, the Word-Incarnate to the world.
