On 28 December 2022, the friars of the Province of France, gathered in Provincial Chapter, re-elected br. Nicolas Tixier, OP as Prior Provincial for the next four years. The election was confirmed by the Master of the Order and Bro Nicolas accepted the election on the same day, 29 December 2022.
Brother Nicolas Tixier, OP was born on 28 April 1978 in Clichy-la-Garenne (Hauts de Seine), baptised on 10 September 1978 in the church of Stella Matutina, in Saint-Cloud, diocese of Nanterre. He has a Diplôme d’Études Approfondies in private law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and is a graduate of the Institute of Business Law of the University of Paris 1.
Br. Nicolas Tixier, OP made his profession in the Order of Preachers on 13 September 2003 and received the diaconate on 5 January 2008 in Rennes. He was assigned to Lyon on 1 September 2008 and received the presbyterate on 14 February 2009 in Paris. He was appointed student master on 1 September 2011 in Lyon. He was assigned to the convent of the Annunciation in Paris and was appointed socius of the prior provincial of the province of France on 26 March 2013. On 6 September 2014 he was elected prior of the convent of Poitiers. On 5 September 2015 he was appointed master of novices at the convent of Strasbourg. He became prior provincial on 28 December 2018. He was elected for a second term as prior provincial on 28 December 2022.
