The Vicariate of Angola Welcomes Three New Priests

The Vicariate of Angola has just welcomed three new priests. Our brothers Mário Cardoso Lisboa Cuvalela, OP, Mariano Dinha Domingos, OP and Tomás Chissambo Luís, OP, were ordained priests by the Archbishop Filomeno do Nascimento Vieira Dias, on 27 August 2023. During the festive Eucharist that took place in the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, in Luanda, were present the Master of the Order, Friar Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, Friar Miguel Angel Del Rio, OP the friars of the Vicariate of Angola, priests from different congregations and secular clergy and religious from different congregations.

We mention that on the previous day, August 26th, 4 novices from the Vicariate who concluded their novitiate in the Democratic Republic of Congo – Friars Isaías Pena, OP, Domingos Maurício, OP, Carlos Dimas , OP,  and Baptista André, OP – made their first profession; while Friar Daniel Cassindula, OP, renewed his vows. In the same Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Master of the Order, and for the first time in the history of the Dominican Family in Angola, 3 novices of the Dominican Sisters of Santa Catarina de Sena and 1 novice of the Dominican Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament also made their first profession.
