On September 3, 2023 the Master of the Order, Br Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP has instituted Br Juan Manuel Hernández Hernández, OP as his Socius for Fraternal Life and Formation.
Brother Juan Manuel is from the Province of Santiago de Mexico. Born in 1970 in the town of Purísima de Bustos, Guanajuato, he entered the Order in 1996, made his first profession on August 17, 1998, and was ordained priest on January 28, 2007. He has a licentiate in Civil Law and a pontifical licentiate in Canon Law.
Brother Juan Manuel has served his province in a variety of capacities. He has been a member of the Provincial Council, a canonical adviser for the province and of some religious congregations of women, provincial promoter of vocations, and national adviser of the Dominican Youth Movement (MJD). In addition, he has worked in youth ministry, as a professor in the Provincial Study, Prior of the convent of San Luis Beltrán (novitiate), Prior Provincial, President of CONAFADOM (National Council of the Dominican Family in Mexico), and Master of philosophy students.
On February 20, 2022, the Master of the Order appointed him as his Socius for Latin America and the Caribbean, in which capacity he served until September 3, 2023, when he was named Socius for Fraternal Life and Formation.
